carrie (1976)

Carrie is considered by many as a classic. Why?  There are some iconic scenes like the shower scene and the ending.  In addition, the mother and daughter relationship is a reason.

However, in my opinion carrie is above average at best its no halloween or alien to call it classic is ignorant.  Sorry, I don't bullshit when it comes to movies I tell the truth.  This film is overrated just like angelina jolie's lips. A simple reason for it not being a classic, it is not a good enough film.

People claim this is a horror movie.  Really?  Did somebody important die in the 70's that i do not know about and this is how their giving them tribute?  Since I thought horror movies were scary because this one is not, richard schickel.  Wow, one scene that's scary, I'm impressed to say the least!

What are some bad things about this movie?  The cheesy 70's music is horrible and really out dates the movie.  The movie should have been scarier.  Plus, the ending isn't the scariest in the 70's that could go to either texas chainsaw massacre, alien, or phantasm depending on your tastes.  The twisted view of Christianity which really isn't Christianity isn't surprising considering that the source material comes from stephen king.

This is a good thriller.  Why?  Brian De Palma (platoon) builds the tension all through out the movie.  What makes this more impressive is that it was his second film.  Piper Laurie and Sissy Spacek performances are great. Their twisted relationship in the film is both bizarre and interesting. The theme music is highly recognizable.

The dvd is loaded for a single disc edition.  There are two good documentaries (acting & visualizing carrie) which are both over 40 minutes each.  Plus there are two featurettes which are both over 5 minutes.

wake the dead

released: 2005

This is a good album by comeback kid. My favorite songs include false idols fall, wake the dead (great chorus & gang vocals), partners in crime and losing patience.   The artwork is cool.

four brothers (2005)

This revenge film is good.  The cast is great.  Singleton does a good job in directing the movie.  The flashback sequences with the dead mother are brief but good.  This film has a great payoff.

There are two scenes from the film that are worthy to mention.  The turkey scene is great with the flashbacks.  The ending is good because of the payoff.

The first three features (on the dvd) total around thirty minutes and are interesting.  There are nine deleted scenes.  The brother's eulogy shows the emotion of the brothers loss and is my favorite deleted scene.  There is a trailer and thirteen minutes of previews.

a cold dark whisper

Did you expect to see me here?  Did you ever expect to know my fear?  Did you ever expect to close your eyes?  Did you ever expect to die?  Do you know who I am?  I think your fear will show you.  Nightmare so beautiful, everywhere you'd least expect.  Master of manipulation, unknowningly you gave me control.  Come with me, take my hand.  I'll lead you through this promise land.  Show you what you don't want to see.  Show you why you are here with me.  Silently I scream your name, deaf though you are you heed my cry.  Surrending your soul to me, to gain freewill and fulfill desires.  Desires which I've implanted in you, the life you lead I control.  Pure potential shines in the light, charred and empty you lye by my side.  Cold, dark terror resides in your eyes as you gnash your teeth and realize I am real and you I own, eternally you'll writhe at my throne.  Pleads for mercy diminish in the night.  Deliverance was offered, you denied.  Grace hung plainly before your eyes, you refused to give up control of your life.  Ironically you did indeed, traded life to die with me

end of the world (ahhh)

I was bored last night (jan 16) so i turned on the local christian tv channel, you know the ones that help some heretics get rich. Sorry but i don't agree with the whole idea of a tv preacher. I am sorry but when people cry just so they can get gullible people to send them "love gifts" it makes me sick. The first thing i see is jack van impe claim that dec 21 is the beginning of the end of the world and i scratch my head. thinking this is interesting, lets see what else the "man of god" has to say. then, he supports his claim by stating that their are at least four other pagan calendars besides the mayan calendar that say this, so it must true. he has the nerve to and i'm paraphrasing that this is supported in the bible by revelation which cause me to think geez what is he going to say next. later on in the broadcast he seemed to try to back track, by saying that he isn't giving a specific date, like that excuses him or something.

ps if you look for this on you tube the dec 21 thing is in the beginning of the program.

incident at loch ness (2004)

This film is a satire of documentaries and the loch ness monster.  That is why the movie is so interesting.  Zak Penn directed this film and has a great cast.  the music is good.  Plus, Incident has some funny moments in it.

The dvd has some good stuff in it.  This dvd has a bunch of easter eggs in it.  A funny deleted scene is innocene.  The commentary on Incident is with Zak Penn and Werner Herzog, its good.  Finally, Non-Evidence, the documentary of the film is interesting.

Wake up!

I tell myself this but it doesn't seem to work. I feel like its 10 am when its after 12. I know somebody could slap me and maybe then i would wake up. An ice bath would work, maybe somebody should walk up to me and throw water in my face. Loud music seems to keep me awake however, i'm not in an area where i could blast loud music like amon amarth or mastodon. If it would be christian music it would be either zao or for today. I know i'm rambling but i'm tired, so don't expect anything special from this pile of rubbish. i think i will go sleep on a table in job club. I wonder if they would give me a blanket and sing me lullabies? maybe it would be old show tunes or opera. I know i'm weird but i'm use to it and i like being weird. normal is a code word for drone. happy january!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yep i used to many exclamation points on the last sentence. why??????? who cares, puppet boy! what kind of winter is this, warm weather and no snow. how stupid... the end.

I know the ending was abrupt.

new york super fudge chunk

New York Super Fudge Chunk

A good ice cream that is tasty.  My only gripe is the "fudge" which to me isn't really fudge its just small chocolate and vanilla candy bars.  This makes the ice cream really hard to get out of the container.

yummy!!!

no wings to speak of

2002 by hopesfall

what to say about this great ep?  Well, it was a career defining moment for this band.  Each song on this ep is great but the third song, end of an era is a classic because it showed how emo and hardcore could be combined in an awesome way.  This album showed their great potential.  However, I don't think they ever reached that greatness because they went into a different style of music which isn't bad but they didn't do it well in my opinion.

fatal attraction (1987)

Fatal Attraction

The opening shot of Fatal Attraction is great and sets the tone of the movie.  Dan and Alex’s relationship develops and crumbles like a Greek tragedy.  Madame Butterfly is mentioned which is no accident, since this film plays like an opera.  Glenn Close is awesome as Alex Forest.  She is great as a psychotic.  Anne Archer is great as the wife.  The cast is great.  Finally, this film is a great thriller.

Now a few scenes from the movie I enjoy, in no particular order.  The roller coaster scene is great because it shows the mother’s distress over her child’s disappearance.  Another good scene is the coffee pot scene.  Finally, when alex tells dan she’s pregnant the look she gets is priceless.

This dvd has some extras but none worthy for me to mention.

warlord (97)

Warlord a sludge metal band with good Christ centered lyrics that didn't suck.  They lasted 2 releases before they broke up.  Back when Solid State Records signed good bands and had a good reputation.

The quest is a blistering title track.  Where the road forks is a song you love.  Legend is interesting with the spoken word at the beginning.  Finally, the gathering is the anthem of this ep.
