A film that is dramatic, powerful, and bittersweet, is a description of the Perfect Storm. The acting of George Clooney as the captain makes this a better film. In addition, Mark Walhberg stands out as the best supporting actor when it comes to the fisher men. The women leads do good jobs in the minor but important roles in this film. This movie is powerful because of the special effects without them this movie would suck. They are done with excellence and skill by I.L.M. The music by James Horner creates feeling and makes the tension palatable. Finally, the best scene is the speech at the end of the movie.
This dvd has a couple good things on it. The HBO documentary is interesting. This dvd has three commentaries; the best is with Sebastian Junger the author of the book.
